The New Ideas Fund
Ideas change the world. Rachel Carson spawned the modern environmental movement with Silent Spring. Michael Harrington's The Other America started the War on Poverty. For decades, progressives have waited for thinkers like these to flourish on their own, ceding dominance of the world of ideas to the right. There is an urgent need and an important opportunity to bring new ideas to the table, especially in the areas of national security policy and foreign policy. The New Ideas Fund [NIF] is designed to put this principle into action by providing micro-grants to thinkers with bold, progressive ideas that carry the potential to change the country.
